Sima SL-20LX Ultra Bright Video Light

The product worked for it’s first and initial charge. The indicator LED’s fully lit up and worked just as described. I put it on my camera and all worked well, and was very effective at lighting like it states. But I later went back to charge it and the red indicator light did not come on. But I thought well maybe it is charging but the light is just not coming on, so I let it charge over night and nothing happened. Then I thought well maybe it has to be fully drained to charge, so I did just that. And still no indicator light or light coming from the LED’s themselves. Nothing has come loose or broken or anything. It has been in a protective case for it’s entire stay. It’s been over a month, so I know I can’t return it. But I think it’s ridiculous that this product has this inconsistency. I wonder if other reviewers reviewed too soon and are now experiencing this same problem. This is the first time I’ve experienced this with any product and am very disappointed. Everyone always says save your money and buy a better one, but you don’t care. But when it happens to you, you really notice its severity. I think I’m entitled to an exchange for this product, or they will lose future business from myself and friends.

This is one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made. Upon purchasing this light, I charged it overnight and took it to a shoot the next day, where it worked for roughly 30 seconds and then flickered out. Nothing afterwards would get it to work at all, and now it won’t charge anymore. I would return it and demand my money back, but I’ve already thrown away the packaging. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a light to NOT buy this one. You might as well light your money on fire–you’ll probably get more light that way, too.

I used this light attached to my Panasonic FX37 camera to record introductions with people at a meeting.

It’s really bright. In a way it doesn’t make sense to attach is to a camera that is going to be very close to the subject. The specs say they light is effective between 15 and 25 feet, so you might want to consider that when purchasing.

Fantastic light! Great design. I will be purchasing more. They are portable, compact, and never get hot. My highest rating!

This lite does not last long..hence it dims as it goes. It takes 3 hours to charge. It cannot run off the ac charger power…which makes it virtually useless for anything but the shortest of shot situations. If it could run off ac it would be usefull, as it is …it is not!
