Sony PHOTOGO10 Photo Go Photo Editing Software – Windows

I bought this program for my mom to help make it easier for her to handle her photos she takes with her digital camera. She takes lots of photos but is not very good with computers. What she wanted was a program that organized photos well, had simple editing features and an effective emailing feature. Above all this it has to be easy to use. This product looked promsing and appeared to be a good match for her. Even better is that she uses a Sony DSC-H2 digital camera so it should work.
This program did not work as advertised.I helped my mom with loading the program and initially everything seemed fine. It loaded OK and organized my mom’s photos. Now the problems:
1. It would not import photos from her camera. We followed the tutorial and looked on the help section. She was doing it correctly and selecting the correct drive but importing did not work.
2. The emailing feature did not work. All it would do is open her email program and we tried all three of her programs namely Outllok Express, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail. None of these programs although selectable worked. It would only open the email program but would not attach the photo. The tutorial was easy to follow for her and I liked that you could easily resize the photo that you were emailing.
3. My mom likes to crop photos and while this did work the lines for cropping were a bit hard to see for her.
4. We were working on this in the evening and I had to fly back home in the morning. I gave my mom the tech support number that was in the help section to see if they could walk her through on getting this program to work correctly. She called the number the next day and was told that they do not offer any support with this product.
It was not an expensive product and I figure we will just uninstall it and throw it away. I have tried to get my mom to use Photoshop Elements which is a great program but all the options and navigation is a bit much for her. For now she is just back to using Image Station program that came with the camera.
