Photoshop QuickTips: Vintage Colours

Using Curves in Photoshop to get more vintage looking colours – where the blacks fade to a dark blue/purple and whites fade to a creamy yellow.

    Are you sure it’s Photoshop 8 (which is actually called Photoshop CS)? If you are using Photoshop *Elements* 8, then that is different. Unfortunately it doesn’t let you edit curves like this.

    If you wanted, you could try the free program “GIMP”, which does work like this and I have another video tutorial for that :)

    This looks so cool but I’ve only got photoshop 8 and it doesn’t let you edit the curves like that anymore which really sucks.

    Not exactly – color balance won’t give you quite as much control or flexibility. I’m sure it could get a vintage effect with it if you tried though.
