The Canon Xsi ships with, and is rated for, a 7.4v battery. This is listed as 7.2v on the box, the battery and on the Opteka website. I was told by a Marketplace Vendor that the 7.2v is a “misprint,” but there is no way of truly knowing and it’s enough to make me worry. I’d hate to damage a $$$$ camera over a $ battery. This one is going in the garbage and I’m going with the Canon Equivalent LP-E5 Battery which is marked with the correct information (7.4v!), has a solid reputation, and is currently selling for a better-than-amazon price on Diamondback Battery’s website.

Item appears to be as described by vendor, and it does fit and works in my Canon T1i. However, I’m unable to evaluate battery life at this time since I haven’t used it yet. I bought it as a spare to use in case my Canon battery dies. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. Fast shipping!

The batteries came quickly..charge well and hold their power. Who could ask for more? So glad I dumped the camera with the AA’s.

i wasn’t sure wether buying original canon battery or the opteka battery, but for it’s price i thought that there is no thing to lose if i get one.
got the battery found it’s dimention as the original, but longer lasting and slightly decreased the flash recycling time.
i have it since 2 monthes, and still getting the same performance.
get yours it worth a try.

I have been using this battery as a back up for my original Canon battery in my XS and so far it has worked well. It lasts just as long as the original battery and it even registers on the camera’s usage meter. THe battery is the 7.4V 1800mAh as advertised.
